THE HAYES-TAYLOR YMCA, WHICH OPENED ON JANUARY 5TH, IS THE NEWEST ADDITION TO GREENSBORO.  THE 55,000 SQUARE FOOT BUILDING REPLACES THE ORIGINAL HAYES-TAYLOR FACILITY, WHICH USED TO BE LOCATED NEAR THE NORTH CAROLINA A&T CAMPUS.  THE NEW LOCATION HAS OFFERED MANY MORE OPPORTUNITIES, SAYS LARRY BURNETT, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE HAYES-TAYLOR YMCA.             “Clearly the biggest benefit is where we are located there were 3 areas where we were identified at our old property that customers identified needed.  First one is that they needed more parking.  We had very limited parking spaces at the old facility so…The second thing we needed was more green space for the children to go outside and play.  Where with this property we have a lot more green space.  In addition to that we have a wide range of classes be the aerobics, tai chi, yoga, different classes that you can come to at this facility and we couldn’t offer wide variety of classes at the old facility but we can do that here and that has made all the difference in the world.” THIS BRAND NEW FACILITY HAS MANY FEATURES AVAILABLE TO THE MEMBERS. SOME OF THESE FEATURES INCLUDE A POOL, BASKET COURTS, A FITNESS CENTER THAT CONTAINS A LARGE RANGE OF WORKOUT EQUIPEMENT, AND TRACK BOARDING THE WHOLE AREA.  ALL OF THE FEATURES OFFERED AT THIS NEW FACILITY HAVE BEEN ADDED TO BENEFIT THE MEMBERS.  ELANA NEZARIO, THE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR AT THE HAYES-TAYLOR YMCA,

SAYS THEY HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL WITH THE GROWTH OF MEMBERSHIPS. “We had a lot of success with bringing over members from our old location and then when we opened her on January 5th, between January 5th and January 3 we signed up another 1000 units.” IN JUST ONE SHORT MONTH,THE HAYES-TAYLOR YMCA HAS SEEN A LOT OF SUCCESS.  THE STAFF HOPES THE FACILITY CONTINUES TO GROW AND HELP THE COMMUNITY COME TOGETHER AS A WHOLE.  IM MORGAN NOVAK, HPU NEWS.
